Sakchi police apprehended him from Ranchi on Tuesday and brought him to the police station here in the evening, where he was subjected to intensive interrogation till late at night.

According to police sources, a case of cheating amounting to nearly  Rs 1.25 crore was registered against Agarwal on November 26, 2025.

He is accused of collecting large sums from several people on the promise of providing flats, but allegedly failed to deliver the properties or return the money.

Soon after news of his arrest spread, high-level efforts reportedly began to secure his release.

However, he was not released till late night, with legal proceedings continuing.
