Crack down on modified silencers: 42 Bullet motorcycles booked in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a decisive move to curb noise pollution, the city’s traffic police launched a special enforcement drive against motorcycles fitted with illegal modified silencers.During the campaign conducted across various parts of the city, authorities intercepted around 42 Bullet motorcycles that were found using high-decibel modified exhaust systems in violation of traffic norms.

Acting swiftly, traffic personnel seized the modified silencers on the spot and imposed fines on the riders.After issuing a stern warning, the vehicle owners were allowed to leave, with clear instructions to comply with standard vehicle specifications.

Officials stated that such modified exhaust systems produce excessive and disturbing noise, contributing significantly to sound pollution and causing inconvenience to residents and pedestrians.

Speaking on the initiative, Traffic DSP Neeraj Kumar said that a special enforcement drive is currently underway across the city to identify and act against vehicles using illegal silencers.  He emphasized that strict action will continue against violators, and similar inspection drives will be carried out regularly to ensure compliance with traffic regulations.

The traffic police reiterated that the campaign aims not only to enforce the law but also to protect public health and maintain a peaceful urban environment by keeping noise pollution under control.
