Top Court Grants Interim Relief to CM Soren, Stays ED-Linked MP-MLA Trial

In a significant development, the Supreme Court of India stayed the MP-MLA court proceedings against Hemant Soren over allegations of ignoring ED summonses. The apex court sought a response from the Enforcement Directorate and halted further action by the special court in Ranchi.

The ED had alleged violations under the PMLA and IPC after Soren reportedly appeared only twice despite several summonses. Soren has maintained that he submitted written replies when unable to attend and termed the complaint malicious. The case will proceed after the ED’s response.
