JAC matric, intermediate board exams begin across state with 7.4 lakh candidates

Ranchi: The tenth and Intermediate board  examination conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) commenced examinations across state on Monday, with around 7.4 lakh students appearing this year. Elaborate administrative and security arrangements have been put in place across all 24 districts to ensure examinations are conducted peacefully, fairly and without malpractice.

Examinations are being held in two shifts. Matric exams are scheduled in first shift from 9:45 am to 12:35 pm, while intermediate exams are being conducted in second shift from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. Candidates have been instructed to reach centres well in advance to complete entry procedures on time.

In state capital Ranchi, special preparations have been made for smooth conduct of exams. A total of 139 examination centres have been set up, with deployment of adequate number of magistrates, police personnel and examination staff. Flying squads have also been formed to closely monitor sensitive and highly sensitive centres.

According to official data, 4,23,861 candidates are appearing in matric examination for which 1,232 centres have been established statewide. For intermediate examination, 3,24,321 students are participating. Examination centres have been equipped with CCTV cameras, jammers and other security measures to enable swift action against any irregularity.

Jharkhand Academic Council and district administration have appealed to candidates to carry admit cards and valid identity proof and strictly follow guidelines issued by board. Parents have also been urged to extend cooperation to ensure smooth conduct of examinations.
