No Politics Over Children’s Return; Police Morale Must Be Honoured

Ranchi: The successful crackdown on a child trafficking gang in Jharkhand and the safe recovery of more than a dozen missing children, including Ansh–Anshika and Kanhaiya Kumar, has once again demonstrated the vigilance, sensitivity, and professional competence of the Jharkhand Police. This humanitarian achievement has brought immense relief to several families and further strengthened public confidence in the state’s law-and-order machinery.

Congratulating the police on this notable success, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Alok Kumar Dubey and Chief Spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo met Director General of Police Tadasa Mishra and Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan. They extended their appreciation to the entire police team, stating that the safe recovery of the children and the exposure of the trafficking network clearly reflect the police force’s commitment to both humanity and duty.

During the meeting, DGP Tadasa Mishra said that maintaining law and order is a collective responsibility and assured that the safety of children would remain the police’s highest priority. She added that strict action against organised crime would continue. SSP Rakesh Ranjan also congratulated the general public for standing with the police, directly or indirectly, during the operation.

Alok Kumar Dubey stated that it was inappropriate to portray the recovery of the children as a result of political pressure or agitation. He emphasised that the success was purely the outcome of the Jharkhand Police’s sustained, professional, and sensitive efforts. He said that instead of indulging in political credit-taking, the focus should be on boosting police morale, as humanity and responsibility must take precedence over politics in such sensitive matters.

Chief Spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo echoed similar views, stating that children’s safety demands sensitivity and accountability, not politics. He said the Jharkhand Police has proven its commitment to duty and will continue to act firmly against such criminals.

The Congress also strongly objected to statements claiming that the children’s recovery was due to political pressure or protests. Dubey and Shahdeo said it was unfortunate that BJP state president and MP Aditya Sahu linked the success to an agitation, as such remarks undermine the morale of police officers and personnel who worked tirelessly to reunite the children with their families.

The delegation included social worker Pramod Yadav, Mahangar Kali Puja Committee president Vinay Kumar Singh, Ajit Kumar, Congress leader Mehul Dubey, Mohammad Azhar, Diksha Kumari, and Nitik Gupta.
