RBS Vedic Trust Distributes Ration and Traditional Food at Old Age Home on Makar Sankranti

Ranchi: Marking the occasion of Makar Sankranti, RBS Vedic Trust organised a ration and traditional food distribution programme at Apna Ghar Old Age Home in Latma, Ranchi, on Thursday.

Trust Secretary Ranjana Shukla said essential supplies were distributed among more than two dozen elderly women residing at the home. The items included 30 kg of rice, 10 kg of wheat flour, 5 litres of mustard oil, 5 kg each of chura, sugar and jaggery, along with lai, salt, tilkut, and detergent for washing clothes.

Shukla stated that RBS Vedic Trust was established in memory of late Ramsanwari Devi. Her fourth death anniversary was observed on January 15. She added that she is the daughter-in-law of late Ramsanwari Devi and that the trust organises social service activities every year on the occasion of her death anniversary.

Recalling past initiatives, she said that last year, on the same occasion, the trust arranged meals for underprivileged people near the Jagannath Temple in Ranchi.

Notably, on November 2, 2025, the trust, in collaboration with the Ranchi Press Club, organised the Jharkhand Journalism Award 2025. Under the programme, five journalists were honoured with cash awards, while ten others received awards in various categories.
