Joy in Ranchi After Abducted Children Rescued; CM Soren Promises Action Against Traffickers

Ranchi — A sense of joy and relief swept through Ranchi on Wednesday following the safe return of two young siblings who were kidnapped nearly two weeks ago.

The five-year-old boy and his four-year-old sister were rescued from the Ahmednagar area of Ramgarh district under the jurisdiction of Rajrappa police station. Police have arrested a man and a woman in the case and are conducting detailed interrogations.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated the Jharkhand Police, describing the rescue as a major success and reiterating the government’s resolve to dismantle organised human trafficking networks.

In a message shared on social media, Soren said the incident had been deeply distressing and praised the police for their perseverance, technical investigation, and coordination with other states. He assured that the probe would not be limited to this case and that strict action would be taken against all those involved in similar crimes.

The Chief Minister also instructed officials to ensure that the rescued children’s family receives the benefits of all applicable government schemes.

DGP Tadasha Mishra, while briefing the media, said the operation was the outcome of a well-coordinated effort involving officers at every level. She announced rewards for the entire team and highlighted the crucial role of the technical unit and Quick Response Team.

According to the police, early evidence points to the involvement of an interstate trafficking syndicate, and efforts are underway to identify and arrest all members of the network.

The rescue was made possible after two alert youths from the locality recognised the children from social media posters and informed the police, who acted swiftly to bring the children home safely.

Following their return, residents gathered outside the children’s home, celebrating with colours and cheers, as the city witnessed an emotional outpouring of happiness.
