
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Police is set for a major organizational reshuffle, with the state government preparing to promote 16 IPS officers across various senior levels, including Additional Director General (ADG), Inspector General (IG), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and Superintendents of Police (SP) to the selection grade. The move will also increase the number of officers at the SP rank in the state.
Manoj Kaushik of the 2001 batch will be promoted from IG to ADG. He is currently serving as IG (CID) and Ranchi Zonal IG. IPS officers Anish Gupta, M. Tamilvanan, and Ajay Linda from the 2008 batch will be elevated from DIG to IG rank. Anish Gupta and M. Tamilvanan will receive pro forma promotions as they are presently on central deputation.
From the 2012 batch, IPS officers Kishor Kaushal, Akhilesh B. Varier, Anjani Kumar Jha, Mo Arshi, and Anand Prakash will be promoted from SP to DIG. In addition, 2010 batch officer Kusum Punia will also be elevated to the DIG rank. Akhilesh B. Varier will receive a pro forma promotion due to central deputation, while Kusum Punia’s promotion will take effect after the completion of her two-year Annual Confidential Report (ACR) period.
Recommendations have also been made to grant senior selection grade to 2013 batch officers Hurdip P. Janardanan, Nidhi Dwivedi, Anshuman Kumar, Prashant Anand, Harilal Chauhan, and Priyanka Meena.
These promotions are expected to bring significant changes to the Jharkhand Police hierarchy, strengthening leadership and expanding the senior officer cadre across the state.
