
Ranchi: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey on Wednesday attended a Christmas get-together organised by the All Churches Combined Christian Association at Amar Shaheed Sheikh Bhikhari Stadium in Heshmi under the Mandar block.
The festival was celebrated in a joyful atmosphere with the minister cutting the Christmas cake. The association also organised colourful cultural programmes at the stadium, which witnessed large participation from local residents and members of the Christian community.
Addressing the gathering, Tirkey said December is a month of love, affection, happiness and celebration. She said Christmas brings people together and strengthens harmony and mutual respect in society. Referring to the Christian faith, she noted that its core values of service, love and sacrifice guide humanity towards welfare and compassion.
The minister said the Christian community has made significant contributions to nation-building, particularly in the fields of education and healthcare. She added that the spirit of service, compassion for others and dedication to society represents the highest essence of religion.
Several prominent members, including Jaywant Tigga, Pankaj Tirkey, Amlan Minz, Pitroos Khalkho, F Khalkho, Manga Uraon, Devnish Tigga, Alok, Jeevan Minz, Serafina Minz, Belash Toppo, Azad, Abid, Ishroz and Shamim, were present at the programme.
