BJP OBC Morcha slams govt, vows stir for civic polls, reservation rights

Ranchi: The Jharkhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC Morcha held its state-level meeting at the party headquarters in Ranchi today, strongly criticizing the state government for allegedly denying reservation rights to the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and delaying municipal elections. The meeting was chaired by OBC Morcha state president Dr. Amardeep Yadav and attended by several senior leaders, including BJP state president and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi.

In his address, Marandi said the Jharkhand government has become autocratic and lawless, with rampant corruption and a deliberate attempt to sideline OBC representation. “Despite delaying panchayat elections by two years, the government failed to ensure reservation. It has now stalled municipal elections for over two and a half years with the clear intention of denying OBCs their rightful share,” he alleged. Marandi further accused the Congress of historical anti-OBC policies and vote suppression during its rule.

BJP state working president Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai called the OBC Morcha a vital wing of the party, urging its workers to unify backward communities and expand the reach of Narendra Modi’s welfare schemes. He also emphasized organizational discipline, time management, and strategic outreach.
