Bokaro - Two Maoists were killed and a CRPF jawan lost his life during an encounter in Jharkhand's Bokaro district early Wednesday. The clash took place in the dense forests of Birhordera under the Gomia police station limits, following a joint operation by security forces based on intelligence inputs.
During the firefight, two Maoists were shot dead—one wearing uniform and the other in civilian clothes. An AK-47 rifle was recovered from the site. A jawan from the CoBRA-209 battalion of the CRPF sustained critical injuries and later died while being transported for treatment.
Police said the operation is still in progress as a search for more Maoists continues. The identity of the slain Maoists is yet to be confirmed.
