Man kills uncle, aunt with axe over land dispute in Gumla

Gumla: In a shocking incident on Sunday, a nephew allegedly killed his uncle and aunt using an axe due to an ongoing land dispute in the village of Karichuwa Ambatoli, located in the Kamdara police precinct. The victims have been identified as Thadius Kullu (45 years) and his wife Sylvia Kullu (42 years).

The accused, identified as Arvind Kullu, has been arrested by the police. Reports indicate that the conflict over land has been a longstanding issue between the two families, with tensions escalating since a related dispute surfaced earlier in 2023.

On Sunday afternoon, a women's meeting was taking place near the home of the deceased couple, where Thadius was also present. In a sudden turn of events, Arvind arrived with an axe and struck Thadius. When Sylvia intervened to protect her husband, she too was attacked and killed by Arvind.

Despite the presence of several women at the scene, none intervened due to Arvind's aggressive demeanor. The police have launched an investigation into the matter to gather more details about the incident.
