Two goods train derail on CIC section, no evidence of any bomb blast on tracks

Ranchi: A couple of goods train derailed on the CIC section Barkakana - Barwadih line between Khelari and Rai railway stations
falling under Dhanbad Rail Division of the East Central railways in the wee hours of the day today.

Though it was suspected that the Maoists had damaged the tracks but police have yet not received any proof of any bomb blast.
Senior rail officials said that 10 bogies of a coal-laden goods train derailed on down line in which some of the bogies fell on the
upline, within a few minutes a goods train carrying containers came on the upline and hit the bogies of the already derailed train
as a result of which 12 bogies of the container train derailed.

Post the incident train traffic movement on both and the up and the downlines came to a halt. One of the injured driver of the container train was rushed to Medica Ranchi for further treatment. Upon receiving Information Ranchi Rural SP Ashutosh Shekhar DRM Dhanbad Anil Kumar Mishra ASP operations Saroj Kumar reached on the spot. Assistant Railway safety commissioner Diwan Shukla along with the rail Rescue Team has also reached on the spot to repair the tracks. 

Sniffer dogs and a FSL team has been also called from Ranchi to look for evidence of any bomb blast. Meanwhile, senior Railway officials said that it would take about 48 hours to repair the track as massive damage has been caused. The incident is also likely to affect the movement of many trains from Ranchi and Dhanbad rail division. The goods train carrying coal was going to Bilaspur while the container train was going to Rourkela. A senior official of the Ranchi Rail division Neeraj Kumar said that in wake of the accident movement of Ranchi Delhi Garib Rath and Jammu Tawi Express has been hit and the strange could be now brought to Ranchi via Tori.
