Secretary Rural Development asks officials to make action plans for pending projects & complete them on time

Ranchi: Secretary, Rural Development Department, Prashant Kumar has directed all the Deputy Development Commissioners to ensure that the schemes run by MNREGA are visible on the ground. He said that MNREGA is not just a scheme but it is also a powerful means of generating employment for the villagers. 

The Secretary expressed strong displeasure over the delay in the implementation of MNREGA schemes in various districts. speaking in the review meeting organized through video conferencing with all the Deputy Development Commissioners of the state in the Rural Development Department Auditorium he directed the workers working in the schemes operated under MNREGA to get the problems faced due to rejected transactions rectified within a week.

He asked all the Deputy Development Commissioners to complete the target on time. He said that the officers should note that complaints should not be received. Reviewing the progress of renovation/ construction of 75 ponds under the Amrit Sarovar scheme, the secretary directed to complete the work in time. He also reviewed the Rurban Mission and Jal Chhajan Yojana.

The Secretary said that one lakh wells will be constructed by the state government and its target will be decided district-wise. For this, an assistance amount will also be given to the beneficiaries for construction. He said that fifty thousand rupees per well will be given to the beneficiaries in the material item for the construction of irrigation well. On the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Birsa Irrigation Well Promotion Scheme, whose construction work will be done by converging with MNREGA.

One lakh wells will be constructed in two phases. In the first phase, 50 thousand will be constructed this financial year and in the
second phase, 50 thousand in the next financial year. Kumar informed that plantation work is being done on a large scale in the state under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana. In such a situation, the construction of these wells will be easy.

The launch of this scheme will help in providing a 100 days work guarantee in MNREGA. The labourers will be provided work as per the demand in the financial year. During the meeting, MNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B also directed necessary progress in creation of mandays under MNREGA.

The MNREGA commissioner directed all the concerned DDCs to prepare a proper work draft in a planned manner and work towards completing all the schemes at the earliest. She instructed to get 100 percent Aadhaar seeding of active laborers under MNREGA scheme. After observing the earlier pending schemes, he directed them to complete them on a priority basis. At the same time, she also directed to upload the evidence of pending ATR on a priority basis.

The plans for the financial year 2019-20 were reviewed by MNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B and taking information about the pending schemes, an action plan was prepared and all the Deputy Development Commissioners were instructed to complete them without delay. During this, clarification was sought from the office bearers of the worst-hit districts in the state.
