Sarhul is a symbol of connection with nature says CM, promises separate multi-story hostel for tribal girls and boys students

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of the nature festival of Sarhul.

Addressing the people after participating in the rituals at Adivasi Hostel at Morhabadi he said that everywhere one can see happiness and enthusiasm and people are dancing on the beats of Mandar and Nagadas. He said that across the state people are performing the rituals of Sarhul at the Sarna Sthals.

The Chief Minister said that the tradition which is going for ages shows how much importance the nature festival of Sarhul holds in the lives of the tribals community. He said that Sarhul was not just a festival it was a symbol of connection with nature.

The Chief Minister also played the Mandar among the people. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the government has decided to provide well-equipped and necessary facilities to the hostels. The renovation work of the hostels has also started. In this connection an action plan has been chalked out to give a new dimension to the tribal hostel he said adding that separate multi-story hostels for boys and girls will be built here, where there will be complete arrangements for accommodation of 500 boys and 500 girl students.

He announced to renovate the Science and Arts Block of Ranchi Women’s College. The Chief Minister said that Sarna and Masna places are related to the faith of the tribals. The government is working towards preserving it. He told the people that society will also have to fulfill its responsibility in keeping the social heritage intact. With the efforts of the government and their contribution we can give a different identity to our religious heritage he said.
