Budget Session: Father of power has destroyed Mother of Democracy says Hemant Soren

Ranchi: On the last day of the Budget Session of Jharkhand Assembly Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on the Centre describing the BJP as the Father of Power which has destroyed the Mother of Democracy. Addressing the house he said that the court order over Rahul Gandhi appears to be strange to him.

He said that there might be differences of opinion among the people but it should escalate to such proportions where one is ready to kill another person. He said that India was the second most populous country in the world and what will happen to ‘them’ (BJP and their leaders) when the entire population will come on the roads and at that time they will have no places to run. He said that if anyone is trying to suppress the voices of the people it will not continue for long.

The Chief Minister said that the industrialists who are being helped by the centre are neither creating jobs nor contributing to the economy of the country but on the other hand are trying to flee away with the money abroad. He said that whether it was the issue of OBC reservation or the inclusion of 1932 in the 9th schedule of the constitution there are many decisions which the centre and the state governments take together while in others the centre decides itself.

Continuing his tirade against the BJP he said that many Union Ministers including the Home Minister are coming to Jharkhand and inaugurating their projects and schemes but that the protocol was not being followed. He cited the example of the foundation laying of road projects in the capital by Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in which he said that protocol was not followed as the name of the cabinet minister of Jharkhand was at the end while that of the BJP leaders was on the top.

He pointed out that without the approval of the state government, it was not possible to construct roads or bridges here and sought answers from the BJP and their leaders as to what they will get from meting out such step-motherly treatment. The Chief Minister said that when he first time became the Chief Minister in 2013 one of the first things done by him was the beautification of Sarna Sathal at Sahjanand Chowk of the capital and now that of the Tapovan Mandir as he believes in giving respect to all the caste creed religions and communities of Jharkhand.

He also attacked a BJP MP for making derogatory remarks on Congress MLA Dipika Pandey and said that the action was a reflection of their attitude towards women. Hemant Soren said that the party in opposition in Jharkhand has only seen it as a grazing ground where attempts were made to suppress the voices of the poor Dalits and tribals.

He alleged that non-BJP Chief Ministers are not being allowed to travel out of the country and are being prevented from raising the issues of the state at a global platform. He said that the Chief Minister of the non-BJP state is not even allowed to go to Nepal as they fear that the bubble which they have created in the world will be busted.

He said that the old sins of the previous governments have been labeled on him and pointed that the officials against whom action has been taken had worked under the previous regime and sought answers from the opposition as to over which bridge had collapsed in his tenure or roads destroyed.

He said that previously the state was walking directionless which has now started walking properly and claimed that the state government will not shy away from washing the sins of the previous government. Attacking the BJP and AJSU he said that since the beginning he was aware of the fact that problems will be created in the implementation of the Khatiyaan-based domicile policy.
