Daltonganj: In a joint operation by the Palamu police and 134th battalion of the CRPF a sub-zonal commander of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad was arrested from Chainpur Police Station area along with arms.
Palamu SP Inderjeet Mahtah said in a press conference here that DIG Palamu had received a secret tip-off that sub-zonal commander of the JJMP Santosh Yadav has come to Kurka village to collect levy after which a joint team of the CRPF and the district police was formed.
The team conducted a search in the village and nabbed a suspicious man along with a desi katta and live cartridges who was later identified as the sub-zonal commander of the JJMP, the SP said adding that Yadav was wanted in more than two dozen cases.
