Monsoon Session of Jharkhand Assembly all set to be disruptive

Ranchi: The Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Assembly which is going to commence on Friday is all set to be disruptive with the opposition geared up to corner the government over the looming drought-like situation in the state and corruption.

A day before the session all the political parties spent the day making strategies for the assembly session. While Chief Minister Hemant Soren chaired a meeting of the legislature wing of the JMM at his residence at Kanke Road while Congress party also held a meeting with its MLAs in which JPCC president Rajesh Thakur and incharge for party affairs in Jharkhand Avinash Pandey also participated.

The MLAs of the BJP also held a meeting at the party office however its legislature wing leader Babulal Marandi who got detected for Covid earlier in the day abstained from the meeting and is also likely to miss the entire duration of the session. State BJP Chief Deepak Prakash said that Jharkhand is grappling with severe drought therefore without any delay a drought should be declared in the state.

He alleged that the government was also involved in corruption and the party MLAs will raise all such issues. As per the schedule on the inaugural day condolences will be offered while on August 1 the first supplementary budget for the year 2022-23 will be tabled while on August 2 debate and passing of the supplementary budget will be held.

From August 3-5 question hours will be taken and different bills will be tabled in the assembly. It is expected that during the session bills related to Azim Premji Digital Skill University Raghunath Murmu Tribal University etc will also be tabled by the government.
