Monsoon starts pouring in state, rains bring respite to people

Ranchi: Monsoon has made its entry in Jharkhand due to which rainfall has started taking place in many districts. In the state capital Ranchi, the day had commenced with sunshine and humidity but in the afternoon the weather took a change and winds started blowing which was soon followed by rains which brought a much-needed respite to the people. It is expected that in the next one or two days Monsoon will spread over the entire Jharkhand.

Apart from Ranchi Dhanbad and Hazaribagh districts also received rainfall. The weather department has predicted that districts of Chatra, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Latehar, Dhanbad, Giridih, Bokaro, Garhwa, Khunti, Koderma, Ramgarh, Simdega, and West Singhbhum will receive rainfall which will be coupled with lightning also. On June 20 the MET has predicted heavy rainfall in the Santhal Pargana region and also in Ranchi and its surrounding areas.

Scientists at the local weather station said that the weather is favourable and in the next few days rainfall will take place across the state. Monsoon has already entered Santhal Pargana with districts of Godda Sahibganj Deoghar and Dumka receiving the first spell of monsoon. Last year Jharkhand had come on June 12.

On average, in Jharkhand, the Monsoon remains active for four months during which an average annual rainfall of 1022 takes place with capital Ranchi receiving average annual rainfall of 1027 mm.

Due to the showers, the maximum temperatures in all the districts has gone below 35 degrees barring Godda which recorded a maximum temperature of 35.6 degrees while Bokaro was coolest at 30.1 degrees.
