Vision document of 2030 will be ready to stop desertification in Jharkhand AK Rastogi

Ranchi: In the state of Jharkhand about 20 lakh hectares of forest area is such in which no construction work can be done only plantation work can be done there and the same time due to technical shortage in these areas the work of rainwater harvesting is not being done due to which the fertility of the soil of Jharkhand is decreasing.

These things were said by Jharkhand’s Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force AK Rastogi in the Future Ready Jharkhand program organized on World Desertification and Drought Prevention Day organized at Palash Auditorium, Doranda.

AK Rastogi said that there is a need to prepare a long-term plan to maintain the fertility of the soil of Jharkhand to save the water and forests all the level employees and officials of the forest department should prepare an action plan and implement it. He said that it is not that work has not been done in this direction work has been done but we cannot document the work of the department which needs to be rectified therefore whatever is the monitoring
index of the works done in the past decades, there is a need to prepare future plans.

In the seminar, the District Forest Officers who came from different districts gave their suggestions and said that there is a need to do more good work regarding nursery as well as plantation work can be done in those areas by taking over the closed mines and in the forest areas.

The situation is likely to change by giving priority to LiveLollywood. The officials said that there is a need to expand the scope to deal with the problem of drought so that steps can be taken towards reducing carbon emissions by 32 Gigatonnes by 2030. Two booklets were also released during the programme.

On the occasion of World Desertification and Drought Prevention Day, mainly the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Wildlife Warden Ashish Rawat, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests cum Executive Director Sanjay Srivastava and forest officials from different districts of the state were present.
