State under impact of western disturbance: Rains and thunderstorms to continue

Ranchi: The effect of the western disturbance was witnessed in many districts of Jharkhand even on Sunday. In the afternoon, rainfall was reported in many districts including Ranchi. At the same time, the Meteorological Center has predicted strong wind speeds reaching 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in many districts.

On Saturday also there was heavy rain with thunderstorms in many districts including Ranchi. Due to this, trees had fallen in many places as well as the damage was caused to houses. At the same time, many roads of the capital Ranchi were submerged. The Meteorological Center, Ranchi has predicted light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Chatra, Gumla, Latehar, Garhwa, Palamu, and Ranchi districts.

During this, there is a possibility of strong wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. In view of this, a yellow alert has been issued. There was good rain in many districts of the state including the capital Ranchi. During this, trees fell at many places due to strong storms. 

At the same time, the power supply was disrupted in the capital Ranchi and its surrounding areas for about six hours. Most of the havoc of the storm was seen in the northeastern part of the capital Ranchi. While the Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain at some places in the state on May 22, 23 and 24, on May 25 and 26, north-west Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Koderma, Latehar and Lohardaga districts and there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in the south-west parts.

Apart from this, light to moderate rain has been forecast at some places in the state on May 27 and 28. During this, the Meteorological Center has predicted thunderstorms along with strong wind from May 22 to May 25. On May 22 and 23, there is a possibility of strong wind speed reaching  30 to 40 km/ph with thunder/thundershowers at isolated places in the state. 

At the same time, on May 24, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in the northeastern and south-eastern parts of the state. Along with this, there is a possibility of a strong wind blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 km/ph.

Apart from this, there is a possibility of thunder/thundershowers at isolated places in the northwestern part and southwestern parts of the state on May 25.
