459 candidates file nomination for panchayat polls in Ranchi district

Ranchi: The process of filing nominations is going on in various blocks for the third phase under the Ranchi district for the three-tier panchayat election. For the second phase, candidates are filing forms for various posts in Ormanjhi, Anagada, Namkum, and Silli blocks. 

Nominations can be filed till May 2 for Zilla Parishad members, Panchayat Samiti members, Mukhiya and Gram Panchayat members. On the third day of the notification for the third phase, the total number of nomination papers filed in various blocks under the Ranchi district stood at 259.

In Ormanjhi, 69 for Gram Panchayat members, 30 for Mukhiya, 11 for Panchayat Samiti members, in Anagada, 29 candidates filed their nominations for Mukhiya, 59 for Gram Panchayat members, 14 for Panchayat Samiti member.

In Namkum, 80 for Gram Panchayat members while 30 for Mukhiya and 17 for Panchayat Samiti members, in Silli, 60 candidates filed nominations for Gram Panchayat members, 29 for Panchayat Samiti members for Mukhiya.

For Zilla Parishad members, 05 candidates filled the form in Ormanjhi, 1 in Anagada, 4 in Namkum and 7 in Silli. The last date for nomination for the third phase is May 2. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done on May 4-5. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till May 7.
