Raghubar seeks CBI probe into shelter home sexual exploitation case

Ranchi: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday wrote a letter to Union Home minister Amit Shah demanding a CBI inquiry into the alleged rape of two tribal girls at a shelter home.

The shelter home Khushi Rainbow Home is associated with an organization ‘Centre for Equity Studies’ run by Harsh Mander. The former Chief Minister said that people associated with the shelter home concealed this heinous crime even knowing the fact and did not inform the police.

Rape of tribal girls has increased in the state which is a matter of concern he said adding that Harsh Mander was a member of the National Advisory Council headed by Sonia Gandhi during UPA rule. He has a very controversial background. His association with organizations involved with anti-national activities has been exposed.

He was also involved in the anti CAA agitation that the Delhi Police is investigating, Raghubar Das said. Das claimed that on previous occasions also complaints of sexual harassment of girls at his shelter home ‘Aman Ghar’ and ‘Rainbow Home’ were reported.

However, due to the efforts of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), the FIR could be lodged but for ensuring justice he sought for a CBI inquiry and blacklisting of such organizations.
