Mob lynching bill should have been passed in Parliament: Hemant

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has passed the Mob Lynching Bill in the winter session of the Legislative Assembly. 

After the boycott of the opposition and partial amendment, the state government got this bill passed from the house.  On this, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has targeted the central government. 

He said that the mob lynching bill should have been in priority of the central government and it should have been passed by the Parliament but their priority is to create discrimination between the people.

Hemant Soren said that the mob lynching bill is necessary and keeping this in mind the Jharkhand government has passed this bill in the winter session of the Legislative Assembly. 

While targeting the center he said that the central government should have the first priority to keep the mob lynching bill in the house but their priority is to create animosity in the country and discriminate between the people for this reason it was not in their list.

On December 21, 2021, in the winter session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, the state government got the Mob Lynching Bill (Mob Violence and Mob Lynching Prevention Bill-2021) passed by voice vote in the House.  Violence by two or more people will be considered as mob lynching in the eyes of law.  In case of death in mob lynching, the guilty will be punished with life imprisonment and a fine ranging from 5 to 25 lakhs. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Aalam had introduced this bill in the house.
