Cooperative has an important place in the development of the state: Badal

Ranchi: Agriculture Minister Badal said that the state government has taken upon itself the onus of development of the Agriculture Sector and are also working towards implementing the idea of Integrated Farming. There are many challenges regarding cooperatives in the state and by facing those challenges the department has done better in various sectors Badal said the above things as the chief guest in a programme organized in the Cooperative Auditorium at Pashupalan Bhawan, Hesag. 

In this program organized by NCDC Badal said that there is a need to change the thinking. The cooperative movement, which started from Madras since 1904, has created many new dimensions of success in various fields he said that Chhattisgarh came into existence as a separate state along with us, but today it is working fast in the field of agriculture and cooperative societies are very active there. Initiating the distribution of working capital of ten crore rupees among 500 lamps/pax Badal said that proper utilization of working capital should be ensured and its monitoring should be ensured at the district level. 

The Agriculture Minister said that during the Corona epidemic, the cooperative department has procured more paddy than the target at the minimum support price in the field of paddy production, regardless of their lives. Against 60 lakh metric tonnes, 62.85 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured. Also, the department has set a target of 80 lakh metric tonnes for the next financial year. He informed that the Agriculture Department is working on a plan to build 200 yards for paddy stock in the state and also written to the concerned department for land for at least 100 rice mills in the state. The department is taking rice mill project as a pilot project and 5000 metric tonnes capacity cold storage and 30 metric tonnes capacity cold rooms are being set up. He said that the department is going to develop the basic infrastructure in the field of agriculture. 

Departmental Secretary Abubakar Siddique said that NCDC has done the work of honoring the cooperative society for the first time. Implementation of various schemes of the government through cooperatives gives better results.
