Administration bans sale of firecrackers in streets, clusters will be formed at selected places in capital

Ranchi: On Diwali in Ranchi this time too there will be a ban on the sale of firecrackers in the streets and neighbourhood. Clusters will be formed at selected places for the sale of firecrackers. Clusters will be formed in different localities and retailers can set up shop in the same clusters. At present, Morhabadi ground has been made a cluster.

Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan has issued an order in this regard. The administration has also set some conditions for the sale of firecrackers and all vendors must comply with this. As per the conditions a license has to be obtained for the sale of firecrackers. Along with the application, a self-declaration will also have to be made to follow the rules of the administration. The district administration will issue license for retail sale of firecrackers.

Applicants can submit their application for this but retail shopkeepers will not be issued permits by wholesalers. Earlier, the wholesalers of firecrackers used to issue temporary licenses with their seals to the retail shopkeepers, when they were not authorized to do so. Now wholesalers will not be able to issue their licenses.

Last time the cluster was formed at Morhabadi Ground, Harmu Ground, Jaipal Singh Stadium, Bariatu Housing Colony, Shastri Maidan, Chutia, Kaju Bagan, Ratu Road and PHED Ground Hinoo.
