Mayor inspects Chhath Ghats: Orders to remove weeds on banks of Kanke Dam

Ranchi: Ranchi Mayor Asha Lakra on Thursday went out to inspect the various Chhath Ghats of the capital on Thursday.

During this, she reviewed the condition of more than half a dozen ghats. During her visit, she first reached Kanke Dam and ordered the immediate cleaning of the weeds growing on the Chhath Ghats on the banks of the dam.

Apart from this she inspected the Chhath Ghats up to the Bada Talab via Hataniya Talab, Karam Toli Talab, Jail Mode Pond. The Mayor said that better arrangements should be made for cleanliness at the Ghats so that Chhath devotees do not face any problem.

The Mayor asked the ward councillors to mobilize from now itself so that all the ponds could be ready before Chhath. During this councillors of many areas were also present along with the mayor. The Mayor directed to expedite the cleanliness drive in view of Chhath Puja and Deepawali.

Asha Lakra said that there are many ponds in the city that are in much better condition than before therefore the need to clean the ghats is negligible. The workers engaged in cleaning said that this time there is no dirt in the pond and there is no infection of any kind even in the water.
