Special vigil at airport and railway stations in wake of rising Covid cases

Ranchi: In wake of the increasing cases of Coronavirus the district administration has decided to be more strict about compliance with the guidelines of Covid-19 while on the other hand special vigilance will be maintained at the airport and railway stations.

Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan gave necessary directions in this regard in the meeting of the District Covid Task Force. While reviewing the Covid-19 testing he said that if a passenger is found infected during the tests at the railway station and airport, then he should not be traceless under any circumstances. Giving necessary instructions to the concerned officer, he said that the ambulance should be kept ready and ensure that the patient is admitted to the Covid Hospital. The Deputy Commissioner directed to ensure deputation of one personnel in every testing team for mobile number verification of the passengers who gave the samples.

The DC said that if even a single passenger found positive during the tests at the railway station is missed, the Incident Commander will be suspended. He said that the Incident Commander should be posted at the railway station in all three shifts and scot the passenger found positive and admit them to the Covid Hospital. The Deputy Commissioner said that it should be ensured that no patient remains in home isolation. During the tests at the railway station and the airport, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officer to coordinate with the Senior Superintendent of Police if force was required. In the meeting the Deputy Commissioner said that special vigil should be taken from now till Chhath Puja. He said that adequate number of magistrates should be deployed at railway stations and airports. 

The Deputy Commissioner said that during the festival a large number of people from other states would come by trains, he gave necessary instructions to the SDO and ADM to ensure adequate arrangements during the trains coming from places like Bihar, Maharashtra, New Delhi. The DC directed to report number daily of the patients found positive in the district. He said that how many patients were found from which place information about it should be given in the report.

In view of the increasing cases of corona, the Deputy Commissioner inquired about the arrangements in Sadar Hospital and Resaldar CHC. The Civil Surgeon said that both Sadar Hospital and Resaldar CHC are functional. The Deputy Commissioner directed to ensure that the oxygen supply is not interrupted in the Covid hospitals, he said that all the pipelines and points should be checked. The enforcement team will take strict action regarding compliance of Covid-19 guidelines in Ranchi. He directed to conduct a campaign for compliance of Covid-19 guidelines. He said that action should be taken against the establishments/shops where the guidelines are not being followed.

During the meeting, door to door survey work for the people left out for the second dose of vaccination was also reviewed. He said that they should complete the work of 100 percent survey and provide daily reports in the  prescribed format that how many people were given the slips.

In the coming days, the facility of vaccination will be available for the people coming for morning walk every morning at  Morhabadi ground. Between 6-10 am people will be able to take vaccine in the camp. The Deputy Commissioner gave necessary directions to the concerned officer regarding its preparation
