Rural Development Secretary writes to DCs to focus on plans of department

Ranchi: The Rural Development Department is busy in giving impetus to the state government's priority of poverty alleviation and livelihood promotion.   

Regarding this Secretary of the Rural Development Department Dr Manish Ranjan has written a letter to all the Deputy Commissioners of the state.  It has been directed that necessary action should be taken for successful implementation of schemes run under Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society and coordination with other departments.  It includes linking the groups with bank loans, getting the loans out of the old groups and providing Mudra loans to the entrepreneurial members of Sakhi Mandal.

The Secretary has also directed to provide bank loans to the youth trained under RSETI for self-employment.  It is said that with this people will move towards self-reliance.  He has also asked to enroll the members of the groups under insurance schemes like PMSBY, PMJJBY, PMJAY and Atal Pension.  Also among the members of Sakhi Mandal, BC Selecting Sakhi and establishing it in all gram panchayats, BC in the district.  Promote transactions through the channel in community based organizations, groups, village organizations etc.

Emphasis has been given to establish three livelihood resource centers under the district and one chick hardening center in all the blocks.

In order to give impetus to rural development, the Secretary has been asked to get the minor forest produce procured by Van Dhan Kendras at the minimum support price by the Jhamcofed organization.  Apart from providing a suitable building for office-cum-storage room at the block level for Van Dhan Kendras, Producer Groups and Rural Service Centers, even after registering the cluster organizations of NRETP under the Jharkhand Self Supporting Co-operative Societies Act, 1996  has been emphasized. 

At the same time, the Secretary has asked to cooperate in the purchase, packaging and distribution of materials at reasonable rates under THR.
