Jharkhand Academic Council cancels 10th and 12th board exams

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Government on Thursday ordered for the cancellation of the 10th and 12th board examinations.

An official statement issued here said that Chief Minister over the prevailing situation caused due to Coronavirus has decided to cancel the 10th and 12th board exams to be conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council. 

On April 17, the Jharkhand Academic Council had postponed its matriculation and intermediate exams due to the rising cases of Coronavirus. On April 15 JAC had stopped practical exams for class 10th and 12th after many students had tested positive for Covid-19. 

A total of 7.63 lakh students including 4.31 lakh in matric and 3.32 lakh in intermediate were scheduled to appear in the board exams of JAC.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on his social media page later wrote that in wake of the situation which has arisen due to covid and over the demands of the students and parents it has been decided to cancel the 10th and 12th board examination to be conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council for this session.
