JMM accuses BJP of misleading people, centre made states helpless on injections

Ranch: The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has accused the BJP led centre of making the states go helpless over the issues of vaccination and Redmesivir injections.

In a video message party's central general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that in the Union Budget of 2021-22 a provision of Rs 35,000 crore was made for the vaccination of 116 crore people.

He said that the money for vaccination in the central budget has gone missing as the states have been asked to buy the vaccines. He said that previous year the Finance Minister had announced for a package worth Rs 20 lakh crore but that money has also gone and on the other hand leaders of BJP are busy spreading rumours on social media.

Bhattacharya said that for vaccination of the people in the age group 18-45 years in the state there is a requirement of 3 crore dose and so far only 3.15 lakh doses have been received and in this week another 2 lakh doses are expected. He said that the health department will have to incur an additional burden of 30 percent more funds to buy the vaccines.

He demanded the centre to prepare data of all the people who are in the age group 18 years and above. He said that as of date Jharkhand has not even got 30,000 doses of Redmesivir injections while rumours are being spread over the state getting 1 lakh vaccines.
