State Congress attacks centre over rising petroleum prices

Ranchi: The state Congress has attacked the centre over the rising prices of petrol and diesel despite a downfall in the prices of crude oil in the international market.

JPCC spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey said that with a minor increase in the prices or crude oil in the international market the companies immediately increase the prices but when there is a steep decline then the benefits is not being passed on to the people.

He said that in the last day days prices of petrol has increased by Rs 1.97 while that of diesel has gone up by Rs 2.22 which shows the wrong policies of the centre.

Party spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said that for the last two months process of Assembly elections was in many states due to which despite the increase in international crude oil prices the prices of petroleum products was not increased but when prices have come down internationally the benefits are being not passed on to the people. He demanded the Centre to direct the oil marketing companies to take back increase in prices.
