CM seeks army help in battling Coronavirus in Jharkhand, assures all types of medical support

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday chaired a high level meeting with the senior officials of the army during which he sought their support in battling Coronavirus in Jharkhand and assured all types of medical assistance for the army hospitals.
   The Chief Minister chaired a high level meeting with the officials of the army during which he sought their assistance to battle Coronavirus. He said that in the army hospitals efforts should be made so that general category patients can be treated. He said that with the cooperation of the army and people it can be possible to effectively control Coronavirus. 
     The Chief Minister said that including Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad six districts are highly impacted in the state and especially in Ranchi large number of patients are being found and even from other districts people in large number are coming to the capital for treatment but unfortunately the capacity of the hospitals is not that much therefore the state government is trying to build a circuit and provide better healthcare facilities to the people. The Chief Minister said that if Army will extend its help then faith of the patients will increase and arrival of patients in Ranchi will also reduce. 
     The Chief Minister informed the army officials that Army has hospitals in Namkum and Ramgarh and if the permission is granted for treatment of general patients of Covid-19 than the government will provide all kinds of medical assistance including those related to oxygen equipped beds, ventilators etc. He said that army has experienced doctors and para medical staff and other resources and if their cooperation is extended then people can get better treatment. 
    Hemant Soren said that the state government was planning to build a 1000 bed isolation centre in which he also urged the army to extend its support. He said that if capacity of all the hospitals will be fully utilised then people will not be able to face the issue of lack of beds.
   The army officials said that on the letter which has been sent to the Prime Minister by him on that the Defence Department is giving a serious thought and whatever the instructions will be received from the ministry they will take necessary action. 
   The army officials said that in the Ranchi Hospital there are a total of 400 beds while in Ramgarh there are 120 beds. On this the Chief Minister said that if the army will provide some beds to general category patients then the government will make arrangements of oxygen on all such beds.
   Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh, Development Commissioner Arun Kumar Singj, Brigadier Sanjay Katiyar, Brigadier Rajat Shukla and others were present on the occasion.
