In next four years 24 lakh people will be linked with agriculture related activities: Badal

Ranchi: Agriculture Minister Badal on Tuesday said that the state government has set a target to link 24 lakh people with agriculture in the course of the next four years in which the animal husbandry department has an important role to play.

Addressing a refresher course cum training program organised by the animal husbandry department. He said that apart from agriculture people are being encouraged to take up animal husbandry in the state. He said that Mukhymantri Pashudhan Yojana will be a milestone in achieving this target and advocated the need to work together in order to realise the schemes on the ground.

The Minister said that the government wanted to ensure that benefits of all the welfare schemes reach to the people however to realise the vision of the government it is important that officials remain answerable towards their task and work with honesty.

The Minister said that the government is also aware towards the issues of the veterinary doctors and assured that if they have any problems then all possible efforts would be made to resolve them. He said that government is making efforts to set up on modern veterinary hospital in the state which can be counted among the better veterinary hospitals across the country. He said that there was also a need to improve the functioning of the Veterinary College.

The Minister said that going forward he will be holding a review of the work being done by the animal husbandry department right from the block level to the division level and said that separate meetings will be held with district level officials and steps will be taken to realise the schemes on the ground. He said that the animal husbandry department should work in such a manner so that it can help people in improving their financial condition of the people. Director of the animal husbandry department Nancy Sahay was also present on the occasion.
