CM seeks opposition cooperation, says government can take strict action against DVC

Ranchi: The issue of Damodar Valley Corporation again came up during the ongoing Budget Session of Jharkhand Assembly during which Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that his government might take strict action against the company provided that the opposition too extended its cooperation.

Intervening during a call attention motion moved by Congress MLA Irfan Ansari the Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is fed up with the actions of DVC and provided the house agrees he was willing to take strict action against the company.

He said that the company can be tightened if there is a consensus. He said that all the people are aware as to how due to the attitude of DVC crores of rupee were deducted from the account of the state.

The Chief Minister said that the problem of DVC has not emerged today but for years people are fed up from its acts. He said that DVC does not gives power to common people but gives power to the Industries, moreover it is also creating lots of pollution which is damaging the rivers of the state.
