Weather watch: Temperature falls down by 6 degrees, cold waves to blow for next two days

Ranchi, Feb 1: For the first time in the season cold waves are sweeping the state capital of Ranchi.

As per the weather department for the next two days Ranchi would be under the impact of the coldwaves in wake of which the local Met Department has issued a yellow alert. Along with the coldwaves the minimum temperature in the capital will also fall down drastically.

Over the last three days the minimum temperature in the capital has fallen by six degrees as while on Friday it was 12.5 degrees on Sunday it came down to 6.9 degrees, however during this period the maximum temperature has remained around 22.6 degree celsius. According to the weather department during the next two days also the minimum temperature will decline in the state.

As per the weather department cold waves were also reported in Southern and North Western regions of the state but Chaibasa was most impacted by the cold waves as the minimum temperature in the district reached to 5.1 degrees. Apart from that in Daltonganj, Garhwa, Latehar, Gumla, Koderma, Chatra also cold waves are blowing and it is expected that the minimum temperature will remain around 5-6 degree celsius. On the other hand in Saraikela ,Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, and Sahibganj for the next two days that minimum temperature will remain between 7 to 8 degrees. The weather department in its warning has said that due to the cold waves the minimum temperature can also reach between 4 to 5 degrees.
