More than 100 alive turtles found from Koderma Railway Station

Koderma: The Railways Police on Sunday recovered a total of 115 alive turtles from the Koderma Railway Station of this district.

The turtles were found on platform number 3 at the Koderma Junction. The cost of the seized turtles is estimated to be around Rs 2.50 lakh. All the turtles were later handed to the forest department. However, no arrests were made in this connection.

It is being suspected that the smugglers involved in this trade might have fled after seeing the RPF personnel. RPF personnel Jawahar Lal said that during checking in the west end of platform number 3 two jute sacks and bags were found.

After nobody came forward to claim them the sacks were opened from which the turtles were found. On the basis of CCTVs which have been put up at the platform efforts were on to find the smugglers.
