Elephants create havoc in Bano block of Simdega

Simdega: A group of elephants created havoc in Bano block of this district as not only they damaged homes but also destroyed crops and vegetables.

The elephants damaged two homes in Akauli village and also destroyed the crops. Villagers said that earlier a group of elephants had damaged all the utensils which were kept in the Kitchen of a primary school at Raikera Bandhdipa.

With the arrival of the elephants the villagers of Raikera, Bandhtoli, Bajhia Toli, Amalia etc are scared as they planted crops and vegetables in their fields. The villagers are staying awake in the night to protect their crops and homes from the attack of the tuskers while the forest department has been also informed to scare away the animals.
