Triple murder in Manatu of Palamu: Dead include a Maoist, his wife and a villager

Daltonganj: A Maoist was among the three people who were murdered in Kundalipur village under Manatu Police Station area of Palamu district.

Police on Saturday said that first the maoist shot dead his neighbour over a land dispute and later the angry villagers and kin of the deceased beat the maoist and his wife to death. Kundalipur is a remote village  located 80 kilometres away from district headquarters and is 30 kilometres away from Manatu block headquarters.

The deceased have been identified as maoist Prakash Singh alias Pragash Singh and his wife Premni Devi and their neighbour Binod Singh. Palamu SP Sanjeev Kumar has confirmed the news.

Police said that maoist Prakash Singh had come to his home to celebrate New Year. He had a dispute with his neighbour Binod Singh over a land dispute over which he shot him dead and later the angry villagers snatched the firearm of the maoist any beat him and his wife to death.

SP Sanjiv Kumar said that police has been sent to the spot. He said that a probe will reveal the exact reasons behind the incident.
