Cloud cover remains in state, weather expected to clear from Thursday

Ranchi: The capital city of Ranchi and many other districts remained under the cloud cover during Wednesday while in the urban areas haze was also reported with the sun not being spotted throughout the day.

The local weather station has predicted that the weather will remain similar throughout the day with some light rain showers also predicted for the day. However, the sky is expected to clear from Thursday onwards after which the temperature will rapidly come down. The MET has predicted the minimum temperature to fall by three degrees and it is likely to hover around the 10 degree celsius mark.

Scientists at the Ranchi MET center said that snowfall has been reported in the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh as a result of which cold has increased due to winds coming from the hills, moreover in Ranchi after December 15 the temperature goes down below 15 degree celsius.

The department has predicted light rain showers in Northern and North-Western parts of the state including the Godda, Dumka, Pakur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ranchi, Gumla, Khunti, Hazaribagh, Palamu and Latehar.
