Koderma: Members belonging to two separate communities clashed with each and other and indulged in stone-pelting in Saraita village under Domchanch Police Station area of this district after a prohibited animal was killed.
People said that members of a particular community had killed a prohibited animal after which a group of people reached the home of the culprits and confronted them. Soon members from the opposite side started stone pelting and damaged few vehicles.
Upon receiving the information police team rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Koderma SP Ehtesham Waquarib said that on Wednesday morning an information was received regarding the killing of a prohibited animal in Saraita village which is part of Janpur panchayat. He said that some anti-social elements had tried to disturb the communal harmony but police acted swiftly and brought the situation under control.
He said that Koderma SDPO Rajendra Kumar, BDO and CO of Domchanch and police teams from Domchanch, Nawalsahi and Dabh are also camping in the area.
