More than 6.35 lakh workers working under Mnrega in Jharkhand: Aalam

Ranchi: Ranchi: State's Rural Development Minister Alamgir Aalam on Friday said that currently, more than 6.35 lakh workers are working under different projects of Mnrega in Jharkhand.

He said that it was for the first occasion since the creation of Jharkhand when between June to September work related to mud is not available despite that record number of workers are working under different Mnrega projects.

He said that amid the Coronavirus crisis lakhs of migrant workers have come back to the state and to provide them with jobs three schemes have been launched by the state government which has helped more than 6 lakh workers get work. Apart from that in rural areas to encourage the production of vegetables Poshan Vatika Scheme has been started.

The Minister said that through Mnrega from December onwards a target has been set to provide work to 10 lakh workers for which he has asked the officials to execute all the schemes on the grounds. Earlier he also chaired a meeting with the officials in this regard.
