Monsoons Session: Opposition uproar over recruitment policy washes out question hour

Ranchi: On the last day of the Monsoon Session of Jharkhand Assembly the question hour was washed out due to uproar created inside the house by the MLAs of the BJP.

On several occasions, the MLAs of the BJP stormed into the well of the house and indulged in slogan shouting after which MLAs from the ruling side all came into the well.

As soon as the house assembled for the day the members of the opposition stormed into the well of the house over the issue of recruitment policy being rejected by the high court. They accused the state government of not putting a strong defence. While the MLAs were indulging in slogan shouting those from the ruling benches also came in the well of the house and claimed that the wrong policies of the previous Raghubar Das government had been rejected by the high court and the present government had no role to play in that.

Amid the uproar, BJP MLA Randhir Singh started speaking loudly and his acts and behaviour came under criticism of Speaker Ravindranath Mahto. As the Sarath MLA continued in his ways the Speaker asked the Marshalls of the house to take him out of the house.

Earlier the Speaker rejected the work adjournment motion brought over the issue of the gang rape of a minor inside the police guest house and those of high school teachers due to which uproar further increased.

The speaker asked the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Aalamgir Aalam to speak over the issue which was objected by the BJP MLAs who demanded that the Chief Minister should speak over the matter. On this Ravindranath Mahto said that it was not appropriate to put pressure on the chair over every issue.

BJP MLA and former minister Amar Kumar Bauri said that the present government claims to be the protector of land forest and water of Jharkhand but in reality, it was against the Adivasis and Moolvasis of the state. He said that the previous government framed the recruitment policy and provided jobs to the locals but due to the present government jobs of thousands has been lost. Over this MLAs of the JMM and Congress came into the well of the house and as both sides exchanged in verbal duels the Speaker adjourned the house from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm.

After the house reassembled Amar Bauri urged the Chief Minister to speak over the matter. He said that to protect its officers the government highers big lawyers  but it did nothing over the issue of high school teachers. He said that the previous government was accused of providing jobs to the outsiders but in these 13 schedule area districts jobs were given to the locals. Bauri alleged that the government did not put up its side properly in the court due to which the policy was rejected. 

Chief Minister Hemant Soren hit back on the BJP saying what one sow is what it harvests. He said that after going through the decision of the high court the government will take further action. He said that the order has come on the recruitment policy of the previous government and due to that several appointments were impacted.
