Organisations protest in capital against attacks on civil rights

Ranchi: On the call of Peoples Union for Civil Liberties workers from more than 70 social, political and civil rights groups demonstrated in the state capital protests against the attacks on civil rights.

The members protested at the Albert Ekka chowk and also carried posters and banners on the support of their demands. The protestors had demanded to withdraw the Bheema Koregaon case and called for the immediate release of people who have been arrested so far, further it also called to withdraw the cases registered against members of civil rights group opposing CAA and NRC.

The agitators also demanded to take back UAPA, NSS and Section 124 A of IPC. The agitation was held by members belonging to Jharkhand Janadhikar Mahasabha, AIDWA, CPI-ML, Human Rights Law Network etc.
