
Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has given his approval to the Anti Corruption Bureau to conduct a preliminary enquiry into the blanket scam of Jharcraft.
In this scam which is related to the purchase of blankets from Panipat of Haryana the then CEO of Jharcraft Renu Gopinath Pannikar, Deputy GM Mohammed Nassem Akhtar and chief financial officer Ashok Thakur have been made the accused.
The directions from the Chief Minister followed after the Industries department recommended for a proper probe and action against the culprits in the irregularities committed in the purchase of the blankets.
The government has decided to hand over such cases to ACB for initial inquiry in which public servants have made misuse of their posts and have indulged in corruption.
