Ranchi district administration refutes rumours, 3 firs registered for circulating fake news on social media

Ranchi: The Ranchi district administration has refuted a number of rumours which were going into the rounds specially those related to the identity of the woman who has tested positive for Coronavirus and the facilities being provided at the qurantine facility at Khelgaon.

Briefing the press Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpet Rey said that certain rumours were being circulated related to the woman in which it was being claimed that she was not positive as she did not show any of the symptoms on this he said that the woman had tested asymptomatic and the findings of the results of the test held at RIMS was confirmed by ICMR Pune.

He said that the cell phone analysis of the woman has shown that she had direct contact with 107 people including some of them who travelled in the same rail bogie, where as she was in touch with 35 from Ranchi, 54 from Hindpiri, 15 train staff and 3 others who had travelled in different vehicles with her.

To the rumours being circulated on the media related to lack of facilities at qurantine center in Khelgaon he said that facilities which are given in hospital can not be similar to those in quarantine facility which is more like a dormitory. He, however, said that Khelgaon is a world-class facility as many national and international level events have been held here and players who represent India have lived in those dormitories.

He said that the district administration has made quarantine facilities at hotels also which the people can avail by paying Rs 1200 per day. Over denial of screening and survey by the people of Hindpiri, he said that the administration was thankful to the leading citizens of the area for the cooperation extended and said that in the night also screening was taking place in the area.

He said that the district administration has to cover 8000 homes in the area which it was hopeful of completing by Friday evening. Mr Rey said that even announcements have been made from the mosque of the area asking people to participate in the medical screening.
