Pooja Hegde Urges Fans to Reject Piracy After Jana Nayagan Leak

Chennai: Actress Pooja Hegde has expressed deep disappointment after footage from her upcoming film Jana Nayagan was leaked online. The film, directed by H. Vinoth and starring Vijay in the lead, is one of the most anticipated releases in Tamil cinema.

Taking to social media, Pooja shared an emotional note highlighting the effort behind filmmaking. She described a film as the result of “countless hours, creative risks, and personal sacrifices,” adding that the leak was painful not just for her, but for the entire team involved.

She emphasized that the issue goes beyond box office numbers. According to her, piracy undermines the respect and recognition that every artist and technician deserves. Appealing directly to fans, she urged them to wait for the official theatrical release and experience the film on the big screen—especially noting the significance of it being Vijay’s much-awaited project.

Meanwhile, the film’s production house, KVN Productions, issued a strict warning against engaging with the leaked content. The company stated that it holds exclusive copyright over the film and that unauthorized access, sharing, or distribution of any footage constitutes a criminal offence under copyright laws.

The producers also revealed that they have already initiated investigations, including digital forensics, to identify those responsible. Stressing that online activities are traceable, they warned that strict civil and criminal action would be taken against anyone found involved in circulating the leaked material.

The team has advised the public to immediately delete any such content if received and avoid forwarding or engaging with it in any form.

The incident once again highlights the ongoing challenge of digital piracy in the film industry, with filmmakers and artists urging audiences to support cinema through legitimate channels.
