Mumbai — Zendaya has opened up about her upcoming film *The Drama*, describing it as a story that raises a deeply personal and existential question — is love truly unconditional?
In the dark comedy, Zendaya stars alongside Robert Pattinson as an engaged couple whose seemingly perfect relationship takes a shocking turn. The story unfolds when Zendaya’s character, Emma Harwood, makes a startling confession during a drunken game, throwing their relationship into turmoil just days before their wedding.
Pattinson revealed that the script immediately caught his attention, especially because of its unexpected twists. Knowing Zendaya was already part of the project made him even more curious, and he believes audiences will be surprised by her performance.
Zendaya, reflecting on the film’s emotional depth, shared that it highlights how love and heartbreak often coexist. She explained that the story challenges viewers to think about what they are willing to accept in the name of love, and whether true love can remain unconditional even in difficult circumstances.
She also connected the film’s theme to real life, saying that genuine love is rooted in feeling safe, understood, and accepted by another person — a space where one can be completely authentic without fear of judgment.
Directed by Kris Borgli, *The Drama* blends humour with tension, creating a narrative that feels both romantic and unsettling. Pattinson noted that the film strikes a delicate balance between being entertaining and emotionally intense, which could spark meaningful conversations among viewers.
The film is set to hit theatres on April 3, 2026, with distribution by PVRINOX Pictures
