Mumbai: Television actor Ashlesha Sawant marked the 50th birthday of Smriti Irani with a heartfelt note, remembering how the senior star stood by her during the ??????? days of her career.

Taking to social media, Ashlesha reflected on entering the industry as a young newcomer and the encouragement she received from Smriti. She expressed gratitude for the warmth, guidance, and constant motivation that helped her grow as an actor.

In her message, she fondly recalled how Smriti supported her when she was just 18 and still finding her footing, saying the bond and respect she feels for her will never fade.

The two actresses first worked together in 2001 on the iconic TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, which went on to become one of Indian television’s most influential and beloved serials. Smriti played the lead role of Tulsi Virani, while Ashlesha appeared as her daughter-in-law, Tisha.

Although Ashlesha’s role in the show was brief, it played a significant part in shaping her early career. Actor Sumeet Sachdev, who portrayed Gautam Virani, was also part of the storyline during that phase.

Over the years, Smriti and Ashlesha have maintained a close friendship spanning more than two decades and are often seen spending time together.

Smriti Irani continues to be linked with the legacy of *Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi*, returning in its reprise version that premiered in August 2025. Meanwhile, Ashlesha has built a steady television career with roles in popular shows like Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara and Anupamaa, featuring Rupali Ganguly.
