Anupama Parameswaran to Headline Director Shaan’s Psychological Thriller

Chennai: Acclaimed actress Anupama Parameswaran, known for her impactful work across Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema, is set to play the lead in director Shaan’s upcoming psychological thriller.

The yet-to-be-titled film will be produced by Shivin Narang, Prerna Arora, and Kiran Ballapalli in association with a leading studio.

Described as an intense psychological thriller, the project marks the big-screen reunion of Anupama and Shaan after the overwhelming success of their widely appreciated short film. The film is currently being referred to as Anupama × RJ Shaan, with shooting expected to commence in May. The makers are likely to announce the official title soon.

Speaking about the collaboration, producer Prerna Arora praised Anupama’s artistic strengths, highlighting her credibility, versatility, and strong emotional connect with audiences across languages. She noted that Anupama brings authenticity and depth to her performances and expressed confidence that the partnership would result in a compelling theatrical experience.

Arora, a National Award–winning producer, is known for backing successful films such as Rustom, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Pad Man, and Pari. Her banner, Ess Kay Gee Entertainment, recently released Jatadhara, further expanding its production slate.

Anupama continues to enjoy strong pan-Indian recognition, having delivered consistent performances in critically and commercially successful films. Her recent projects include Bison and Dragon in Tamil, along with Kishkindhapuri and Karthikeya 2 in Telugu—several of which emerged as blockbusters or major commercial successes.

With this new psychological thriller, Anupama Parameswaran is poised to further consolidate her position as one of the most sought-after leading actresses in South Indian cinema.
